Welcome to Dyeing in the Doldrums!
JANUARY 18TH, 2026
Hello fellow traveler! We are so excited you’re here!
Are your flabbers just as ghasted about the state of the world, particularly our country (the U.S.) right now? Don’t know how you can help? Want to know a fun way you can?
First, a little about us: We believe in Equity, Autonomy, and that everyone has the right to practice Creativity freely. We are in a time where marginalized groups are being called subhuman and being treated as such. Some have been stripped of their autonomy, and others have been silenced. This absurd reality calls for even more absurd commentary through art. We’re Alaska-based and established by local artist, Lizzie Guillot. She is also a local musician and recently started dabbling in painting as another outlet for frustrations, which led to the brainchild that is Dyeing in the Doldrums.
Okay, but we still didn’t tell you how you can help… so: Good news is you can help by purchasing art from our store! All profits made from the storefront will be donated to the Acacia Center for Justice, “a non-profit, non-governmental organization that supports and partners with a national network of human rights defenders who provide legal defense to immigrants at risk of detention or deportation.”
We are open to donating to similar advocacy groups or causes which align with our values so please provide suggestions if you have them!
We are also open to any concept ideas and would be honored to feature other artists’ donated work for the cause, with credit of course! Collaboration is a key part of Creativity!
To start we will have stickers derived from some of Lizzie’s first pieces. Soon we will add prints of the other work with different size options as well as peel and stick prints.
Stay tuned for more, we are hoping this little operation can at the very least spawn some hope and some creativity, thank you so much again for checking out Dyeing in the Doldrums!
